Welcome to The Special Needs Trust Advisor blog site. Our purpose is to inform parents and guardians of special needs children, as well as those acting as trustees of special needs trusts, of the "ins and outs" of managing a special needs trust for a disabled beneficiary.
A Special Needs Trust (“SNT”) is a wonderful tool to assist in enriching the life of a disabled individual but, without proper guidance, managing such a trust can sometimes be a dangerous and treacherous journey. The incredibly complex world of public benefits, such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (“SSI”), Social Security Disability, and Medicare, along with a host of other forms of federal and state welfare programs, create a confusing maze to navigate, even for the most good willed and discerning parent or professional trust officer.
This blog is designed to assist in providing some useful guidance. Feel free to respond to our blog via email, and we will endeavor to answer your questions.
